Crochet butterfly pattern, by JoiceIsCrafty

Posted on: April 21, 2014

Yesterday  I found a really cool butterfly pattern on a blog called JoiceIsCrafty.  It’s a video tutorial in 3 parts, one for each round (the butterfly is crocheted in 3 rounds). It is very well explained, and the butterfly is very easy to make. This is a great gift if you’re looking for crafy ideas for mother’s day!

I used Caron Simply Soft for all the colors, the thinner the yarn the better. I made the antennas with a chenille stem that I wrapped around the butterfly and twisted on top, but you can use any kind of wire you like. I love this pattern, it turned out really cute.

I glued a pin on the back of the butterfly, and voila! This makes a really cute brooch for mother’s day. You can play with different colors combinations, different sizes, turn it into a fridge magnet instead of a brooch. Thank you JoiceisCrafty for this wonderful pattern!

Happy crocheting!
