Let’s make a mouse – Pattern

Here is an easy tutorial to make this cute mouse. You can make several of them since it doesn’t take long to crochet. This one is grey, but you can pick a different color for each one you make, and have fun with it. This pattern is perfect for beginners, I hope you will like it. Let’s begin!

You will need:
– Grey yarn
– Pink yarn
– Grey felt
– Pink ribbon
– 6mm safety eyes, (you can also use Goggly eyes)
– *2.75mm Crochet hook
– Piece of Fishing line (for the whiskers)
– Yarn needle
– Glue gun, or fabric glue

*(you can work with a 3.50 or 3.75 hook size if you feel more comfortable with it. The size of the mouse is around 2.5 inch, but it will be bigger if you use a larger hook)

Abbreviations:
rnd = round
sc = single crochet
inc = increase
dec = decrease
sl st= slip stitch
st = stitch

Body:
With grey yarn, make a magic ring
Rnd 1: 6 sc in center of the ring (6)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)
Rnd 3: (1sc, inc) 6 times (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) 6 times (24)
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) 6 times (30)
Rnd 6 to 12 : sc in each st around (30)
Insert the safety eyes between row 4 and 5  from the nose, 7 sc apart.
Rnd 13: (3 sc, dec) 2 times, 20 sc (28)
Rnd 14: (2 sc, dec) 3 times, 16 sc (25)
Rnd 15: (1 sc, dec) 4 times, 13 sc (21)
Rnd 16: dec 3 times, 15 sc (18)
Start stuffing and continue as you go. 
Rnd 17: (1 sc, dec) 6 times (12)
Finish stuffing
Rnd 18: dec each st around (6)
Dec, Fasten off, and embroider the remaining yarn into the stitches to hide it.

Ears:
Cut a piece of felt in the shape of a ear. Pour a little drop of glue on the end, and fold it. Do the same for the other ear.

Tail:
With pink yarn, and leaving a long piece of thread, make 20 st in chain, sl st back to beginning, and fasten off. With a yarn needle, insert of the threads in the back of the body, and make a tight double knot. Hide the remaining threads in the body to hide them.

Nose:
Cut a piece of pink yarn, and embroider it on the tip of the nose location. Hide the remaining threads in the body and cut them.

Bells and Whistles:
– With a needle thread, Insert several pieces of fishing lines on one side of the nose, and pull on the other side. Cut to desired length.

– Make a bow with a pink ribbon, and glue it on top of the head.

That is it! your mouse is done. You can even use it as a Christmas decoration by hanging a piece of thread on top of it, you can even hang it in your car!

Would you tell me how many sc apart you placed the eyes? Thank you

I placed them 7 sc apart, between row 4 and 5 from the nose. I added this info in the tutorial, thanks for asking!
